Must-know Audemars Piguet Facts

All applicants ought to know these basics about Audemars Piguet before applying or interviewing for any role.

Founded in 1875 in Le Brassus, Audemars Piguet remains one of the few major Swiss watchmakers still controlled by its founding families, a rarity that gives careers there a notably independent, long-term culture.
The brand is best known for the Royal Oak, Gérald Genta’s 1972 steel luxury sports watch whose success reshaped modern watch design and still drives innovation across product, marketing, and retail teams.
Because Audemars Piguet is a fully integrated haute horlogerie house, employees can work unusually close to métiers spanning movement development, complications, finishing, case-making, and heritage preservation.
Its watchmaking reputation places it in the same elite conversation as houses like Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin, which is meaningful for candidates seeking prestige and technical depth on their CV.
Audemars Piguet has invested heavily in contemporary brand experiences, from AP Houses to collaborations in music, art, and sport, making it attractive for talent beyond traditional watchmaking roles.
For job seekers, the company’s combination of historic craftsmanship and modern global expansion often means exposure to both highly specialized Swiss savoir-faire and international luxury business practices.
