All applicants ought to know these basics about Belmond before applying or interviewing for any role.

Belmond began in 1976 with the acquisition of Venice’s Hotel Cipriani and has since built a reputation around some of the world’s most storied hotels, trains, river cruises, and safari lodges.
The brand was acquired by LVMH in 2019, giving employees access to the scale, talent network, and luxury hospitality ecosystem of one of the industry’s most powerful groups.
Belmond is especially known for experiential hospitality icons such as the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express and the Royal Scotsman, making it an appealing employer for candidates drawn to travel, storytelling, and service at the highest level.
Its portfolio spans multiple continents and disciplines—from urban grand hotels to remote retreats and rail operations—so careers can range from classic hotel functions to highly specialized guest-experience, culinary, and transport roles.
Because Belmond trades on heritage and sense of place rather than standardization, many roles demand strong cultural sensitivity, local knowledge, and the ability to deliver deeply personalized service.
Working at Belmond often means operating at the intersection of luxury, design, gastronomy, and destination curation, with natural career adjacency to other LVMH maisons in fashion, wines and spirits, beauty, and retail.
