All applicants ought to know these basics about Alexander McQueen before applying or interviewing for any role.

Alexander McQueen was founded in London in 1992 by Lee Alexander McQueen, and its identity still centers on sharp tailoring, theatrical storytelling, and a rebellious British point of view.
The house became part of Kering in 2001, which means careers there often sit within a global luxury group known for developing talent across brands such as Gucci, Balenciaga, and Bottega Veneta.
Sarah Burton led the brand creatively for more than a decade after McQueen’s death in 2010, earning widespread respect for translating the founder’s dramatic codes into a more commercially scalable and craft-driven business.
Alexander McQueen is especially known for show culture that blurs fashion, art, and performance, so creative, production, image, and atelier roles tend to operate in a highly concept-driven environment.
The brand’s reputation for precision tailoring and emotionally charged design makes it a strong fit for job seekers who want exposure to both couture-level craftsmanship and modern luxury ready-to-wear.
Because Alexander McQueen balances avant-garde runway credibility with leather goods, sneakers, and accessories growth, it offers career paths that span design, merchandising, retail, communications, and global brand operations.
