Chanel seeks a Repair & Maintenance Manager in Vancouver. Fixed-term 6-month role managing boutique maintenance, vendor relationships and preventative programs. CAD$100K base + bonus.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the store planning team for Chanel Canada across Fashion, Fragrance & Beauty, and Watches & Fine Jewellery divisions
- Collect repair and maintenance requirements through field inspections and end-user reporting
- Communicate site-specific needs and schedule work with general contractors, skilled trades, artists and trusted vendors
- Maintain productive working relationships with established vendors and identify and cultivate new vendors
- Negotiate processes and terms with vendors; conduct competitive bidding to secure optimal pricing
- Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs with emphasis on environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility
- Conduct life cycle analysis on common building elements to accurately project, procure and schedule repair and maintenance work
- Assess quotes, prepare purchase orders and manage annual budgets
Qualifications
- Background in design or architecture
- Deep understanding of furniture, millwork, artwork and architectural finishes
- Ability to read and interpret architectural floor plans
- Working knowledge of local building regulations and codes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD
- Experience managing budgets, collecting quotes and writing purchase orders
- Strong problem-solving and creative solution-finding capabilities
- Flexibility and ability to respond quickly to urgent requests
- Willingness to travel within Canada
Skills
Experience
Demonstrated experience in collecting and assessing vendor quotes, writing purchase orders and managing annual budgets within a design or architecture context. Proficiency in managing relationships with contractors, skilled trades and vendors is essential.
Education
Background or formal education in design, architecture, or a related built environment discipline is required.
