De Beers Gahcho Kué Mine seeks Heavy Equipment Operator for Process Plant; fixed-term contract through June 2027, fly-in/fly-out, Northwest Territories.
Role & Responsibilities
- Operate Komatsu WA900 loaders to supply ore from stockpiles to the process plant primary crusher
- Monitor, inspect, and diagnose equipment and systems for malfunctions and operational efficiency
- Assist with crushing operations and supporting plant processes
- Complete and maintain accurate plant logs and operational reports
- Sort ore and operate rock breaker equipment as required
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties according to standard operating procedures
- Maintain areas and equipment responsibilities according to preventative maintenance schedules
- Demonstrate unwavering commitment to security policies and report safety or environmental concerns
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification
- Minimum five years of mine-based experience operating front-end loaders
- Proven commitment to Safety, Health, and Environmental standards
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in remote, site-based environments
Skills
Experience
Minimum five years of hands-on experience operating heavy equipment, specifically front-end loaders, in an underground or surface mining environment. Experience in feeding process plants or similar roles is considered a significant asset.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent qualification
