De Beers Group seeks a Protective Services Official for a fixed-term contract (until June 2027) at Gahcho Kué Mine, Northwest Territories, Canada.
Role & Responsibilities
- Commit to the mine's safety, health, and environmental programs and lead by example
- Oversee activities of employees and contractors to ensure the integrity, safety, and security of all on-site personnel
- Conduct local surveillance and access control operations in coordination with the Protective Services Intelligence Operations Centre
- Coordinate, review, and conduct investigations related to security and protective services matters
- Complete threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments as required
- Execute searches of employees and property in accordance with site protocols
- Operate and maintain CCTV, Ion Scanner, and X-Ray equipment
- Assist in coaching Protective Services Officials (PSO) trainees
- Communicate new and amended policies to mine personnel and ensure compliance
Qualifications
- Proven commitment to Safety, Health, and Environment (SH&E) programs
- Experience operating CCTV, access control, and X-Ray equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Background in investigations or intelligence operations
- Experience working in cross-cultural environments
- Demonstrated experience at remote mine sites
- Strong conflict resolution capabilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license
Skills
Experience
Experience in security operations, investigations, or intelligence work is highly valued. Desirable qualifications include formal training from an accredited institution in corrections, law enforcement, military, or security disciplines. Minimum two years of related security experience and one year in a control room or dispatch environment are preferred. Familiarity with CCTV systems, Lenel, and Perspective software is advantageous.
Education
No specific formal educational qualification is mandated; however, formal corrections, police, security, or military training from an accredited institution is considered a desirable asset.
