The Estée Lauder Companies seeks an experienced HR Business Partner Manager to serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior business leaders across the organization. This role encompasses full-cycle talent management, employee relations, performance management, and compensation planning, with responsibility for driving organizational culture, retention, and employee engagement. The successful candidate will balance strategic HR initiatives with operational excellence, managing performance improvement processes, talent reviews, succession planning, and organizational redesign efforts while maintaining compliance with employment law and regulatory requirements.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain trusted partnerships with departmental leaders, functioning as a strategic employee advocate to optimize organizational culture, performance, retention, and engagement
  • Identify and communicate insights on emerging workplace issues and themes to proactively manage the employee life cycle and anticipate business needs
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition to develop talent strategies aligned with business priorities, manage recruitment pipelines, and oversee new hire onboarding
  • Participate in Talent Review processes to identify succession planning gaps and develop targeted action plans for leadership development and advancement
  • Coach managers on career development and performance management to drive high engagement and individual contributor success
  • Oversee Employee Relations initiatives with a proactive approach to conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and issue management; create and manage Performance Improvement Plans as required
  • Manage the annual Performance Management cycle, including rollout, manager training, ratings distribution, and continuous process improvements
  • Administer compensation planning cycles, including merit reviews, bonus allocation, and equity processes aligned with company objectives
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and fair management practices; foster a culture of engagement through targeted employee experience initiatives
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend data-driven improvements to HR processes and systems; own reporting, data analysis, and quality assurance for assigned teams
  • Contribute to cross-functional HR projects including organizational design, process reengineering, and change management initiatives
  • Support HR operational work and maintain deep knowledge of HR systems, policies, and practices in collaboration with shared services teams

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources with demonstrated expertise in Employee Relations
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an HR Business Partner
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or equivalent professional credential (preferred)
  • Proven ability to anticipate business needs, identify internal and external trends impacting employees and industry, and connect strategic insights to actionable recommendations
  • Demonstrated capability to lead incident investigations, provide thorough documentation, and manage sensitive communication with employees, managers, and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and data-driven approach to problem-solving, coupled with the ability to translate findings into executable plans
  • Knowledge of employment law, regulatory compliance, and legal factors relevant to the jurisdiction (preferred)
  • Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and outstanding follow-through in complex environments

Experience

Education

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification or equivalent professional credential is a plus.

The base compensation for this position ranges from CAD 83,600 to CAD 125,400 per annum.
