Role & Responsibilities
- Build effective partnerships with key internal stakeholders across the organization including executives and management
- Support annual capital planning, budgeting, and regular forecasting processes
- Evaluate proposed capital investments and assist in developing business cases, including reviewing financial assumptions, expected returns, risks, and alignment with business priorities
- Prepare financial analysis and supporting materials to support capital investment reviews and approval requests
- Measure and analyze the performance of completed investments, including post-investment review of financial and operational outcomes
- Develop and evolve reporting, KPIs, and metrics to track capital portfolio performance and business results
- Assist in month-end FP&A activities and coordinate with the Accounting team to ensure timely close of financial records
- Prepare and analyze department operating expense budgets and regular forecasts
- Provide detailed commentary to explain financial results and assist business lines in developing action plans
- Develop and improve new processes and models to support management reporting requirements with a continuous improvement mindset
- Deliver ad hoc reporting, analysis, and projects as required
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA credential
- Minimum 2 years of financial planning and analysis, investment analysis, capital planning, or related finance experience
- Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
- Ability to translate complex financial information into actionable business insights
