Holt Renfrew seeks a Loss Prevention Agent to protect company assets and help maintain a safe environment for clients and associates in Calgary. The role covers store opening and closing, audits, inventory support, CCTV monitoring, investigations, apprehensions and emergency response; the hourly hiring range is CAD 15.00–30.50, with final compensation varying by qualifications, experience, performance and local market conditions. This is a full-time position.
Role & Responsibilities
- Open and close the store as scheduled, following Holt Renfrew procedures.
- Conduct assigned operational and inventory-control audits and follow up to ensure compliance.
- Support Operations and Sales teams with inventory counts, shortage programs and unsaleable articles.
- Carry out routine floor walks and inspections to maintain business continuity and integrity.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Monitor CCTV systems, observe activity and dispatch as needed.
- Conduct internal and external investigations as required.
- Apprehend shoplifters while preserving all elements of proof and maintaining precise investigation notes and documentation.
- Testify at criminal proceedings as appropriate.
- Comply with all Health & Safety policies and requirements.
- Respond to emergencies, providing first aid and/or security procedures as necessary, and follow up with detailed reporting.
- Advocate for Health and Safety in the store by attending monthly meetings and sharing information with store teams and new hires.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in a fast-paced Loss Prevention and/or Safety & Security role, with working knowledge of a retail environment.
- Must produce upon hire, hold and maintain in good standing a valid provincial security license.
- Must produce upon hire, hold and maintain in good standing valid standard first aid, CPR and AED certificates.
- Understand that providing a great customer experience and being approachable are key attributes of a luxury retail partner.
- Previous investigative and interview training is an asset.
- Problem-solving and de-escalation skills are an asset.
- Maintain clear field notes and daily communication logs.
- Maintain thorough, clear and precise investigation reports.
- Contribute to controlling losses due to internal or external theft, fraud or accident.
- Set individual objectives linked to the achievement of department goals.
- Pursue short- and long-term career goals through independent development.
