The Loss Prevention Investigator protects Holt Renfrew’s assets from fraud and internal and external loss through floor surveillance, CCTV monitoring, apprehensions, investigations, POS audits and compliance support. The position is full-time, with a starting range of CAD 17.95–30.50 per hour; final compensation may vary with experience, qualifications, performance and local market conditions.
Role & Responsibilities
- Protect company assets from fraud and internal and external loss.
- Routinely patrol the sales floor to observe and identify dishonest individuals, both internal and external.
- Monitor the CCTV system, observe activity and dispatch as needed.
- Apprehend shoplifters and maintain records of apprehensions.
- Testify at criminal proceedings as appropriate.
- Conduct periodic point-of-sale (POS) audits.
- Conduct confidential internal investigations as required.
- Analyze and follow up on transaction reports.
- Minimize company losses resulting from paperwork errors.
- Support Operations and Sales teams with inventory counts, shortage programs and unsaleable merchandise.
- Respond to emergencies promptly and ensure appropriate follow-up reporting.
- Support and follow up on audits to ensure compliance.
- Comply with all health and safety policies and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with privacy policies, regulations and cybersecurity measures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- College degree.
- 2–3 years of experience in a similar capacity.
- Training in kinesic interview techniques or other interviewing or interrogation methods.
- Previous experience in a retail environment.
- Standard First Aid and CPR, OPA Level II.
- Maintain a provincial guard licence.
- Fully bilingual in French and English.
