Holt Renfrew Manager, Loss Prevention

Role & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain open communication channels with Store Leadership to support EBITDA growth through increased profits, decreased shrinkage, enhanced safety performance, and mitigation of other financial risks
• Establish and execute the overall strategy and tactical planning for the protection and safeguarding of company assets in partnership with the Director of Vice President, Loss Prevention
• Oversee the application, integration, and ongoing development of the National Store Audit program to ensure consistent execution and measurable outcomes
• Manage and develop the Loss Prevention team, including Loss Prevention Supervisors, Investigators, Audit Control Coordinators, and associates, fostering high performance and accountability
• Deliver results aligned with Key Performance Indicators in partnership with senior leadership, leveraging analytics to support target-setting, payroll management, and operational audits
• Collaborate with the Human Resources department and store leadership to educate retail staff on Standard Operating Procedures and Loss Prevention best practices
• Provide comprehensive management reports summarizing and analyzing identified losses and progressing resolution in a timely and efficient manner
• Serve as the organizational expert on all store systems related to asset movement, including POS systems, inventory management, cash management, and operational policies
• Act as subject matter expert on physical security programs and processes, including Burglar Alarm systems, CCTV, Access Control, and MPS (Mobile Patrol Security)
• Identify, prioritize, and champion proactive solutions to address operational deficiencies that impact financial performance and continuous improvement
• Manage project implementations, including critical path development, progress monitoring, launch materials, communication strategies, and results tracking
• Monitor and manage expenses within approved budgets while achieving all expense management targets
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies and act as the representative of the National Health & Safety Manager for the assigned location
• Lead Crisis Management training and incident response protocols in accordance with company policy
• Lead, motivate, and retain high-performing team members capable of delivering exceptional results
• Provide ongoing training, coaching, and professional development for all direct reports
• Build and maintain relationships with external resources, including local police and Security/Loss Prevention associations, to remain current on industry trends related to shrinkage and life safety

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5–7 years of post-university work experience, including 3+ years of management experience
• Knowledge of legislative requirements including Criminal Code of Canada, Citizens Powers of Arrest, Collective Agreements, Trespass to Property Act, and Occupational Health & Safety Act
• Knowledge and understanding of Loss Prevention technologies and hardware
• Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with proven ability to deliver results
• Excellent interpersonal skills; team player capable of acting as both leader and individual contributor
• Confident and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Adaptability and comfort with ambiguity and organizational change
• Strong service orientation with exceptional organizational and follow-through skills
• Passion for fashion and luxury retail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Skills

Experience

5–7 years of post-university work experience, with a minimum of 3+ years in a management capacity. Candidate should demonstrate a strong track record of successfully reducing shrinkage, managing Loss Prevention teams, implementing asset protection strategies, and collaborating with senior retail leadership to achieve financial and operational objectives. Experience in luxury retail or multi-location retail environments is preferred.

Education

Post-secondary degree in a related field (such as Business Administration, Security Management, Criminal Justice, or Retail Management) or equivalent work experience demonstrating equivalent knowledge and competency.

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from CAD 85666.66 to CAD 105,000 per annum.
