Sephora is hiring a full-time Asset Protection Associate on a permanent basis in Toronto. The role protects store assets, conducts surveillance and operational audits, supports inventory and shrinkage-prevention plans, and delivers loss-prevention training; compensation is CAD 25–30 per hour.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Protect store assets against theft and work with the Leadership team to maintain operational controls that reduce shortage.
  • Provide friendly, professional and knowledgeable service to clients as needed.
  • Conduct sales-floor surveillance and use the CCTV system to identify, observe, apprehend or deter individuals committing external theft.
  • Follow all laws and Sephora policies concerning apprehensions, search and seizure, and preservation of evidence.
  • Prepare reports on theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, accident investigations and audits.
  • Maintain professional relationships with internal partners, local law enforcement agencies, mall security and other retailers.
  • Testify in court on the company’s behalf in criminal or civil cases when summoned.
  • Provide new-hire and ongoing employee training to maintain awareness of store loss prevention.
  • Conduct store self-audits, checklists and safety inspections, and communicate findings to the store Leadership team and District Loss Prevention Manager.
  • Assist the store Leadership team with inventory preparation and processes.
  • Partner with stores and the District Loss Prevention Manager to develop and execute shrinkage-prevention plans.
  • Work the required minimum weekly shifts and hours: 30–40 hours for full-time or 16–20 hours for part-time.
  • Work in a fragrance-filled environment; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; bend and stretch to stock shelves.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of asset protection or loss prevention experience in a retail environment.
  • Satisfy and maintain all licensing requirements applicable to the province or local jurisdiction.
  • Strong written, verbal, interviewing, listening and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain composed and provide effective, in-the-moment coaching on loss prevention techniques.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Word and Excel is desirable.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Availability to work flexible hours and days, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Availability to work at multiple locations within a market.
