The Store Manager oversees Sephora’s client experience, team development, sales, productivity, merchandising, operations and human resources, with accountability for store profitability and brand standards. This permanent, full-time, on-site role in Repentigny includes evening, weekend and public-holiday availability.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Forecast sales and staffing with the district manager to improve store results.
  • Monitor daily, weekly and monthly sales results and communicate them to team members.
  • Achieve store sales and operating profit targets while controlling expenses.
  • Manage and measure the effectiveness of business strategies, making changes as needed.
  • Develop strategies to grow the business by leveraging the client loyalty programme, events, product knowledge and services.
  • Maintain optimal staffing levels to deliver an exceptional client experience while meeting budget targets.
  • Recruit, interview and hire for all positions according to operational needs.
  • Train, coach and motivate department managers and team leads, delegating supervisory responsibilities to develop their leadership and business skills.
  • Foster a coaching culture in which team members receive timely recognition for achievements and feedback on areas for improvement through daily coaching and quarterly development meetings.
  • Conduct inventory counts, maintain stock records and communicate inventory issues or concerns to relevant stakeholders.
  • Make strategic and innovative merchandising decisions in line with Sephora concepts, as needed, to grow the business.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of senior management experience in the beauty, retail or customer service industry.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching a high-performing team and a passion for training, development and education.
  • Experience recruiting, staffing and hiring for all store positions, including management roles.
  • Strong time management, problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills; proficiency with Windows, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to remain composed and the courage to lead difficult conversations as a manager.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to analyse and respond appropriately to sales trends, with a track record of meeting targets or key performance indicators.
  • Commitment to learning and development, and a drive to pursue new growth opportunities through formal training or professional experience.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
  • Ability to bend and stretch to replenish displays and shelves, and lift and move loads of up to 50 pounds.
