Conversion rate measures the proportion of a defined audience that completes an action.
If 100 people enter a store and 12 of them make a purchase, visitor-to-purchaser conversion is 12%. A person who buys three pieces still counts as one purchaser here. An appointment report may instead start with appointments attended, and a website may count sessions. Before comparing figures, establish who or what enters the denominator and which action counts as a conversion.
