Luxury Lexicon A definition

Counter manager

A counter manager leads the sales and day-to-day operation of a brand’s counter inside a host retailer.

The counter is a brand’s selling space within another retailer’s store. Its manager follows the counter’s sales, serves clients and coordinates the work needed to present the line on the sales floor. A counter can have its own targets and reporting line even though customers enter through the host store. Read the specific posting for the split between personal sales, coaching other advisors and managing inventory. A counter manager’s area of responsibility is smaller than an entire store.

Chanel advertised its Kelowna counter manager at a Shoppers Drug Mart location. The role reported to a territory manager and combined individual client service with responsibility for sales. The host retailer’s name identifies the setting, while Chanel’s listing supplies the reporting line and the brand represented. Search local jobs for “counter manager”.
