Luxury Lexicon A definition

Hybrid work

A working pattern that combines time at the employer’s premises with remote work, usually from home.

Hybrid work combines time at the employer’s premises with remote work, commonly from home. The arrangement requires coordination across those workplaces, including when people attend in person and how work continues between attendance days. A posting may give a fixed weekly split or describe a broader policy whose application depends on the role. The label alone does not establish which days are remote or how much choice an employee has. It is useful to distinguish the location arrangement from working hours, since a hybrid role can still have a fixed daily schedule.

Harry Rosen described its Toronto digital content publisher role as hybrid. The publisher would work at more than one location. The vacancy did not set the number of office days or say who would choose them, two details a candidate could clarify before accepting the arrangement. Search local jobs for “hybrid work”.
