Movement assembly

Fitting together and lubricating a watch’s internal components so its mechanism can run and be tested.

Movement assembly brings tested components together to form a working watch mechanism. Some component groups are prepared beforehand, a production stage often called T0. At T1, the parts are supplied as a kit for assembly into the movement. The work includes fitting components, applying lubrication and installing the regulating organ in a mechanical movement. Regulation and initial timekeeping measurements follow before the dial-fitting stage. These production labels help distinguish building the internal mechanism from fitting the watch’s visible indications and external parts. Repair work may involve related assembly skills without being a new-production T1 assignment.
