Viscose is a manufactured fibre made by regenerating cellulose through the viscose process.
Canadian textile labelling regulations give rayon as the generic name for regenerated or precipitated cellulose. When the fibre is made by the viscose process, viscose or viscose rayon may be used as its generic name. The regulations separately address modal and lyocell. Those distinctions matter when reading a supplier’s fabric specification against a proposed label. A garment containing a blend needs a fibre-content description that identifies its components, rather than simply naming the fabric construction.

Viscose appears in product composition, sustainability and compliance work. Sales staff may need to explain how it feels and how it should be cared for, and product teams may have to describe its fibre source accurately. Search local jobs for “fabric”.
